Our institute provides help nearly 47 000 times a year. We provide food, clothing, opportunity for taking a shower and washing clothes, we help in finding a job or simply we are there for them to talk. 150-180 people come over to the shelter daily asking for help so that their life would change. Still, the most important for them is that we treat them with dignity and serve them with love and humbleness.
We can provide one meal per person on a daily basis for 128 people. Breakfast is available for take away while lunch shall be eaten on the premises. Both meals can be received via weekly tickets.
Documents and personal hygiene
(documents, providing a mailing address, providing clothing, taking a shower, washing clothes, cutting hair)
Social workers help our guests having appropriate documents issued for them and to manage important issues (police related or legal actions). When required, we also provide them with a mailing address.
On given days (on Tuesdays and Thursdays) they also have the opportunity to replace their old clothes, to take a shower, to wash and dry their clothes and if needed to have their hair cut. In every two weeks we have a volunteer hairdresser.
In our shelter activities like watching the TV, playing card games or chess, using the internet are all available. Christian literature and all kinds of books are to be borrowed from our library. Thanks to our volunteers language lessons are also provided. We have our Bible study on Fridays between 9:30 – 11:00 am: we worship, talk about the Bible, give testimonies, pray together and watch movies. We also offer a room where our guests can take some rest.
